Firstly congrats to jeciimd for winning the BBT2 TOC and the $18k Aussie package that comes along with it.

Ended up in 5th, but didn't like the way I played this tourney. Going into it I was under the presumption that people would be taking more risks since it was a winner take all tourney. Therefore I would play it in a tighter fashion. I don't think this was the case and I couldn't turn on the switch to turn on the aggression. I think you need to get into at least a mini rush to get yourself in the mood.

Early on I played really tight, not much action. Got some chips on a semi-bluff KQs on a double suited board. Luckily a K on the river and luckily I didn't complete the flush as the other player, dnasty13, had the nut draw. Got some more chips vs the super aggro lucko with AK on a K high flop.

Hand 1:
Fuel55 raised utg, dnasty13 (smallish stack) shoves, sb (Rickylake) calls, i fold, fuel reshoves for about double, sb calls. fuel has JJ, small stack has AK, sb has A5o. WTF!!!! obv A on the board.

Hand 2:

a few hands later that Rickylake character raises utg, short stack shoves for a bit more than double his bet. He folds. WTF!!!

Hand 3:

I limp UTG with AA, hoping for a repop. Ends up folding around to that guy. T9x flop. He flop bets, I raise, he shoves. I say fuck but how can I fold. So I call. He flips over J9. WTF!!!

VinNay was so wrong when he classified this guy as Tier 4. This guy was obv not even Tier worth, I feel shame for whover lost heads up to this guy for him to get a seat. I lol'd at this series for a while, though would have lost it if I was on the other side of things.

At this point I was around 2nd in chips, and when the final table started I was prob 4/9. Here is where my problems lay. For some reason I hardly ever stole any blinds. I hardly ever got hands but that shouldn't matter. I know people were stealing my blinds, but I didn't really mind, for every 3 times I had my blinds stolen I pretty much had to make a resteal to get them back, which I did. My favourite target was lucko, who was extremely agro with an obv wide range. Restole on him a few times, and at one point he typed in "<-- calls very light". I responded with a "<-- raises ever lighter". Now I don't know if this played a part at all, but not too long after I reshoved his raise with KK and he relunctantly called with 22.

After that I completely pussied out. Couldn't c/bet, couldn't 4bet pf ... Lost a bunch of chips and was low again. Made a questionable call for the rest of my chips, but I think it was the right calculation. Wish I had the hand history on me so I could look at the numbers again, but folded to the button (Whiskygirl) who was pretty much shoving anytime it was folded to her. I called with QJs. I had 4kish with 300/600 blinds and can't remember the antes. She ended up with A2o, and I rivered a J.

I still played like a pussy after that, and eventually shoved with AT and called by AJ. Flush, T, or double pair did not hit the river, and i'm out.

So here is my final tally for Aussie Million winner take all qualifiers. 3rd, 4th, 5th x 2. No crocodile hunting for me in 08. I guess I'll have to wait for 09.
